To be counted worthy

November 9, 2006

Just some random thoughts today, I hope you can make sense of them.

“He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.”
(Matt 10:37-38 NKJV)

He who does not deny himself and he who does not die to himself is not worthy of Jesus. I want to be counted worthy of His calling. This is what it means to be equally yoked. I must give up my life, take up my cross. When I take up my cross, I find my life, hidden in Christ. I want to lose my life only to find it.

What is love without a sacrifice? What is love without a choice to die? What is saying yes mean if I don’t say no to everything else? There is no greater love than this. (John 15:13)

Every day I must die to live. For me to live is Christ, to die is gain. There will never be a time when I’m not going to die in this life. This is love in Your eyes. Denying my flesh – this is love. What a beautiful way to die – what a beautiful cross where I’m crucified.

What is love if love isn’t chosen above all else?
