The smartest Man is also the meekest Man
So often the intellectual smart guy walks around, knowingly or unknowingly, with an orb of unapproachability surrounding them. You know the type. Anyone who would challenge their thinking or even ask a simple question is surely going to walk away feeling intimidated, their brain having been run through a wringer. But what was it about Jesus – the smartest Man that has ever lived – that made Him so approachable?
Meekness.
The height of God’s beauty is found in His meekness. There is nothing more attractive than meekness. Jesus perfectly displayed the riches of God’s meekness. How can One so strong, so wise, and so mighty stoop so low in such tenderness? It truly humbles us to look upon the great mystery of God’s meekness.
Not only is it humbling to look upon His meekness, but it is inspiring to our hearts to walk in it ourselves. Our greatest glory, freedom, and pleasure is found in being like God in our character.
Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.
(Ephesians 5:1 NKJV)
There is an inherent dilemma in “being first” in privilege and prominence in this age because it creates social and time pressures that may distract us from developing meekness. But we’ve been invited to be set free from the bonds of pride as we walk in meekness. In our weakness, we can receive the impartation of the Holy Spirit to truly walk like Jesus did. Ask Him for it!

Meekness?
Jerry James
I think of meekness as the joining of strength and weakness.
That's why my brain hurts when I try to think of it.
Meekness is being a joint heir with Christ while knowing we are nothing.
Meekness is knowing how desperately someone needs to know Jesus, and being able to love them perfectly while sharing with them.
I think meekness is a choice, a result and a gift??
I am not really trying to make a statement here, rather I am just meditating out loud.
How do we "get meek"?
I would like to hear some others meditate out loud too.
Mike Bickle gives an
Mike Bickle gives an excellent definition of what 'meekness' is, or how it translates into our lives instead of just being another 'word' that is added to our 'Christian dictionary'. "Meekness is power under control". A good example of meekness is when a husband and his wife are in a disagreement. The husband knows he is right, but despite that fact, he lays down his 'right to be right', and lets his wife 'win'.
Consider God (Jesus) being punched in His face and having His beard torn out by those who said they called upon the name of the LORD. Did Jesus have the power to defeat them? Of course He did (Hab 3:3 - 6, Zech 14:12, Isaiah 63, Rev 19:11 - 21, Ps 110:5 - 6 ... etc etc)! However, in His POWER, He manifested self control to fulfill His and His Father's will (meekness).
A great verse to meditate on is 2 Corinthians 8:9, "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich."
"Meekness is power (strength) under control".
Great thoughts, Joe!

A Gift
His meekness is such a wonderful thing to think on. The approachability of the all-deserving One is such a gift.
