onething Egypt - day 1

After an uneventful and long 8-hour flight from Atlanta to Paris, and then another long 4 hour flight from Paris to Cairo, we’ve finally arrived in Egypt! There were no major hiccups along the way, and customs even went smoothly. Praise God!

The onething event is being held at a sports camp about halfway between Cairo and Alexandria in the middle of the desert. The camp has a covered soccer stadium that holds about 8,000 people, and they are expecting to come close to packing it out at the Friday’s bigger sessions. Everyone is buzzing with excitement about what God is going to do. Many believe that this gathering will be historic, gathering the most number of Arabic youth and young adults attending from around the area (including some from Dubai and Jordan) to a Christian meeting – something unprecedented for hundreds of years. What a privilege to be a part of something like this!

We will be playing at the morning and evening sessions, and the local worship team will be leading in the afternoons. Justin and Luke have several songs that they have learned in Arabic, and I can’t wait to see how the crowd reacts to them. There is a genuine hunger in these people. I can’t understand their language (and I can only say “thank you” in Arabic thus far, but I am hoping to learn more) – but I can tell that they love Jesus with all of their hearts and long for more of Him.

If you want to hear LIVE streaming of the conference, go to this site:

If you can’t read Arabic, that’s okay – just click the link in the middle of the page. Audio only at this stage of the game, and video will come later.

I’ve also updated my photos page with some pics from the conference.

And finally, if you’ll be around the IHOP Missions Base at the 10am prayer meeting today (Thursday), pray for us! We’ll be broadcasting the specific “rapid fire” cycle during the 10am prayer meeting LIVE to the conference so that they can hear the house of prayer praying for them!

Stay tuned for more updates and more pics. Thanks again for all your prayers!
