onething Egypt - day 2

IHOP’s international onething conference in Egypt began today with approximately 3,000 attendees at the afternoon session and what seemed like double that amount of attendees at the evening session. Luke Wood led worship tonight, and a good part of his worship set was done in Arabic rather than English. He did a great job, and many of the people began cheering when he started singing in Arabic! Luke is leading again tomorrow morning, and then Justin Rizzo will be leading tomorrow night. He’s going to be singing in Arabic as well and is perhaps a bit more nervous than Luke, but I am sure he will do fine. They both have been practicing hard so that they can be a blessing to the worshippers who come.

Dwayne Roberts spoke tonight and had a translator with him speaking everything in Arabic. He did a great job and interacted with him very well. He spoke on the need for the knowledge of God and how we were meant to live in fascination with God. It was evident that many were deeply impacted by the message. Dwayne invited them all to respond to the Lord in a powerful ministry time.

Tomorrow morning, Luke will be leading again and Jennifer Roberts will be speaking. Tomorrow night, Justin will be leading worship and Dwayne will be speaking again and calling the young people to 7 specific commitments to live holy before the Lord. The crowd is expected to be somewhere around 6 or 7 thousand!

Personally, I’m doing well. My body is still learning to adjust to the new daylight schedule and my stomach is still adjusting to the food. But overall the experience has not been that difficult. However, it is a bit unsettling doing this conference in a primarily Muslim country. But I know that the Lord is our protector from any harm that may come our way and I am putting my trust in Him fully.

Thank you for your continued prayers for me, for our team, and for the Egyptians who call Jesus their Lord! Our internet connection is not the fastest here, but I'll try to post some more pictures later on today.

Hey Kurt,

It's definitely a little intense and intimidating! But I know that the Lord is shifting things just by our prayers and worship!

I wish I could communicate with these people more. You can just tell that they genuinely love Jesus and really want to give their whole heart to Him. Lord, give me the ability to speak Arabic supernaturally!!!

Thanks for praying bro! 30-second prayers REALLY work!

Hey Josh,

We are praying for your safety and return!
But for the present, we are in awe at the magnitude of the numbers of people you guys are ministering to.

Love Dad and Jacquie
