Well, after almost 2 years of the same website design, I figured it was time for a facelift and an upgrade to Drupal 6, the content management software that runs my website. I can’t begin to tell you how version 6 radically improves some of the features to make my site so much easier to manage and provide you with more relevant content!
First, some of the major changes in addition to the site’s facelift – you’ll notice a "music" section for prophetic musicians, including a page describing how I use my laptop on stage at IHOP – something many of you have been waiting for. I’ve added lots of new recommended resources, revamped the photo and audio section a bit, and added lots more ways to get my site’s content by RSS feeds.
I have not updated my page in a while, so I want to apologize to those of you who followed my blog on a regular basis. Regular postings will resume! With the time I would have used to blog over the past few months, I’ve rewritten much of the content on the "About" pages, because I wanted to bring some more biblical clarity to the calling of an intercessory missionary. In addition, many other intercessory missionary websites have just copied my content on that page directly, so I wanted to reword it with clear and simple language that was unique to my site.
You can now find me on Facebook, Facebook Music, Myspace, and Twitter if you’re already on there as well. If not, don’t worry – I won’t be posting updates or responding to private messages on Facebook or Myspace (they will automatically retrieve the content from any blog updates on my personal website) and my latest Twitter status can always be seen on the front page of my site as well. So if you’re not plugged in to those social networking sites already, don’t worry, you’re not missing out on anything. The last thing I want to manage is more content somewhere else! I set them up to get more people connected to my personal website, so I am only responding to emails and comments here at my website.
As a downside to the migration, any new user accounts that were created since June were not brought over to the new site. That only affects a few of you – so if you try to log in and your account is not found, just create another one. I apologize for the inconvenience!
So what do you think of the new site? Leave me some comments and let me know what your thoughts. Let me know if you notice any problems with the new design.
I hope you enjoy the updated joshuahawkins.com!

I did not see the old website. I have just come here for the first time today. I like this look.
I like the new look Josh
Great new design Josh. I really like your homepage, it makes me want to do a redesign of my own.
Did you do the design from scratch or did you start from a template?
Thanks! It's all from
Thanks! It's all from scratch.
Looks great!
There's very little trace of Drupal left and that's impressive! I do full-time Drupal development so I'm familiar with how much work that can be. I'm also excited to see that you're writing on your blog a lot more lately!
Thanks Ben! As you know,
Thanks Ben! As you know, making Drupal not look like Drupal can be tough at times! That wasn't my absolute end goal, but it's good to hear that coming from a Drupal developer :) If you have any suggestions for me, let me know!
