onething Kansas City '09

December always turns out to be a busy month for us at IHOP because we host our annual onething conference on December 28-31. This year, we’re expecting perhaps close to 20,000 young adults to gather in downtown KC’s Bartle Hall for 4 days of worship, prayer, teaching, and ministry. As usual, I’ll be playing keyboard for several sessions – as of right now, once on the main stage, and 3 times in the prayer room (which moves from our south KC location to the downtown area for the 4 days).

The theme for this year’s onething conference is “what is the Holy Spirit saying to the church?” The emphasis of the teaching will be centered on the deception that is creeping into the church regarding holiness, God’s grace, and the person of Jesus. Mike Bickle and several of the other key IHOP leaders and teachers will be sharing at the sessions. Check out this letter from Lou Engle and Mike Bickle for more information on the conference.

The evenings of the conference will also include extended times of ministry because of how the Holy Spirit has been moving amongst the students of our Bible school. Back on November 11, a normal 9am class erupted into a spontaneous gathering of worship and prayer where the Lord’s power was present in an unusual way. The meeting lasted 15 hours and had drawn a large crowd to the auditorium where the class was being held. Since then, nightly meetings have been held at the IHOPU auditorium where Jesus has been healing people of emotional and heart issues like self-hatred and depression as well as physical infirmities from migraine headaches to cancer (doctor-confirmed! Praise God!). We are trusting the Lord to move with His power in the same ways at the conference! If you haven't seen my posts and personal perspective on this yet, be sure to check them out here.

This year’s evening conference sessions will be broadcasted LIVE on GodTV (Direct TV channel 365) as well as for free from God TV’s website (http://www.god.tv/live) and ihop.org’s website (small fee to cover bandwidth costs, but will be broadcasting all of the sessions, not just the evenings).

If you’re going to be at the conference, be sure to find me and say hello! I'll be posting small updates and photos during the conference, with a larger update after everything has wound down.

Question- you may or may not know the answer.

This is my first time attending onething but I'll be arriving on the tuesday, will registration be any different?

Vernal, I am not really

Vernal, I am not really sure... You could try emailing onething@ihop.org. I know they are busy, but maybe they'll be able to reply. In any case, you shouldn't have any problems registering on Tuesday.

God bless!

Hey man. I watched the webcast of the conference and God was doing amazing things in my life even with being several states away. I really want to go to the next one!! Will it be a free conference like it was this year?? God bless you, sir.

Scott

The goal of the entire

The goal of the entire onething conference team is to make every conference free, all the time... So my guess is that next year will be totally free as well!

Bless you too Scott!
