Opening Up the Gospels launches tomorrow

August 5, 2013

I'm so excited for the launch of my weekly video series, Opening Up the Gospels. In 7-10 minute episodes every Tuesday, I will be chronologically walking through the events of the life of Jesus as Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John narrate it. I'm not sure how many episodes I'll have before it's all over, but if the Lord wills, I'll make it all the way to Matthew 28, Mark 16, Luke 24, and John 21!

For a good portion of my life of faith in Jesus, I looked at the four Gospels as random collections of events where Jesus casually healed some people and got mad at the Pharisees, just buying time before the cross. But the past several years of studying and pondering His life have made me realize there is so much more and that I'm just scratching the surface of what Paul calls "the unsearchable riches of Christ" (Ephesians 3:8). In this series, my heart is to help us as Christians to see how glorious and precious His life is. I'll be approaching the Gospels devotionally in my videos, pulling material from the Gospels themselves along with Biblical scholars to help construct a chronological picture of Jesus' story.

The first episode will premiere tomorrow, Tuesday, August 6th right here on my website on the Gospels page. I hope each episode edifies, encourages, and provokes you to grow in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus (2 Peter 3:18).

If you'd like to receive email notification of new episodes, be sure to sign up on the side column of this page.

If the episodes are encouraging to you, be sure to drop me a note and let me know! I'd love to hear from you.

May the Lord Jesus help us to see, hear, and love Him above everything else.
