In Exodus 12, God commands the people of Israel to hold a yearly feast remembering their slavery in Egypt and God's miraculous deliverance of the entire nation after the death of all of the firstborn of Egypt. This short teaching on the significance and simplicity of the "mechanism" of the Passover meal was given to a group of students at Texas A&M University in April 2019.

The ultimate and certain hope of Christians is that God will raise us from death and give us a new body, like the one Jesus has, so that we might live on a restored Earth with Him forever. In 1 Thessalonians, the Apostle Paul reminds believers who have had loved ones die of this great hope and then says "comfort one another with these words".
In that spirit, I had the honor and privilege of giving the exhortation at the memorial service of a mentor and dear friend Bob Falkner who died from cancer in April 2017. Bob was 70.

Allen spoke a powerful message on God's mercy at onething 2007. So often we live in shame and condemnation instead of running into our Father's mercy. Allen encourages us to not live at a distance from His tenderness and delight to show us mercy.
I have recently been pondering the word Christians throw around all the time - "grace". By definition, grace is the unmerited favor of God. He gives us something we are undeserving of. I am so thankful for His grace!
