Prayer, in its seeming weakness and foolishness to the natural mind, is the most effective and most beneficial thing you can do for me. As believers, we have been given a voice in the highest court of all. We need a revelation from God on the governmental power of prayer. We give our hearts to God in prayer because He is a good Father who loves to give good gifts to His children as we ask Him! We have been called to be a priest and a king before our God forever, to be invigorated by His nature and to ask Him to release it to the rest of the created order through prayer.
Above and beyond any amount of financial support, I cherish and value people praying for me on a regular basis. God holds all of the wealth in the world at His disposal, and knows my need before I do! Even so, funds every month simply do not appear out of thin air, and God chooses to release finance through humans interacting and partnering with Him in faithfulness and generosity towards others.
When my heart is upheld before God in prayer regularly, the Lord stirs His zeal and moves His hand to provoke me to love Him deeper. God will only release power on our hearts if we ask. Favorable external circumstances and outward blessings may come and go, but because of your prayers my heart remains steady and I continue to grow in love. When I stand before God, what I have cultivated in my heart is the only thing that I can have with me. This is why I value prayer above every other kind of support.
