Seasons of change...

Posted on January 28, 2008

As many of you know, I've been playing keyboard at IHOP with Marcus Meier and Tim Reimherr (also known as Merchant Band outside of IHOP) since the fall of 2005. Before playing with Marcus and Tim, I played with Todd Ganovski, who has been serving the vision of a house of prayer in Nashville since 2005.

Marcus and Tim's team has woken up way too early and traveled to so many regional onething conferences, played at countless Sunday services, gone deep in...

On being filled with the Spirit - the simplicity of song

Posted on January 22, 2008

Jesus makes things easy so that anyone, regardless of position, culture, race, age, or education can pursue Him. But for our fallen, darkened hearts, simplicity is often our worst enemy. The Lord moves through principles of such simplicity that very few actually walk them out with consistency. It’s one of these simple principles that is often neglected that I want to talk about briefly. Paul writes:

“…be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks...

It’s been a crazy couple of weeks! In addition to my continuing home renovations (the kitchen is just about done, and my roommates’ bathroom is about 85% complete), I had some friends visit for the onething conference and the Luke18 prayer summit here. Following their visit, we had our monthly 3-day fast and solemn assembly. And at the end of the fast I took off for a week visit to the warm land of Arizona.

It was my first trip to the deep southwest. It...

Allen spoke a powerful message on God's mercy at onething 2007. So often we live in shame and condemnation instead of running into our Father's mercy. Allen encourages us to not live at a distance from His tenderness and delight to show us mercy.

There's an oasis in the desert

So much to say and so little time today... So perhaps an update in the next few days.

My brief week trip to Arizona was amazing. Other than being sunny and 70 the whole time, it was perhaps the most refreshing, invigorating, and spiritually strengthening trip away from IHOP that I have ever been on. Let me tell you, God is up to something at Arizona State University. We've got to sow into that place with our prayers!

Definitely more on this later on...

Here's something that really made the week amazing as well:

Vision and Goals, Part 1 - What's your life vision?

by Josh Hawkins
Posted on January 8, 2008

With the new year always comes traditional new resolutions and a fresh resolve to change something in our lives. In the same spirit, I’ve been taking a hard look once again at my life vision and goals and restructuring some of my schedule and priorities for 2008. I thought it might be cool to start a series of posts on the practical points of a life vision and the process of setting goals to achieve them with the help of the Holy Spirit. In these first few posts, I want to provoke you to actually look at your life vision in a new light, or if you don’t have one, to get one and start...

Happy New Year!

Posted on January 1, 2008

It's 2008 and the onething conference is over, but the fun at the Hawkins home still continues! I have several guests and friends from across the nation packing out my house for the next few days. A few of them are staying longer for the Luke18 Project leadership summit and the rest of them are hanging around to spend a few extra days in the prayer room.
